Every roster page for this game used to have a hole in it, and in October 2025 Sad Socket filled it. The King of Time arrived as the ninth playable king, and the announcement leaned into the joke: with him, 9 Kings finally lives up to its own name. He is also the strangest king on the board, mechanically and visually.

Who he is
The official description frames him as a multi-dimensional gentleman who travels through eras looking for more kingdoms to collect. His realm reflects it: his kingdom exists somewhere between magic, science fiction and steampunk, all hourglasses, floating blocks and starfields. Where other kings play one idea (blood, greed, stone), Time plays the concept of sequencing itself. The official notes say his deck is built so that timing is the key: effects care about when things happen, not just that they happen.
What is actually in his deck
Here is where honesty matters more than completeness. Unlike the launch kings, whose decks are documented card by card on the community wiki, the Time deck has only fragments recorded. What is confirmed from official patch notes:
- The Destruction perk, which boosts the starting damage of his Orbiters
- The Big Bang decree, built around his Hourglass: its first hit stuns enemies
- The Eyeglass, adjusted in the same update
- A deck of nine cards including his base, as with every king, described in our cards guide
That is genuinely most of what can be said without inventing. The Patch 0.9.5 deck rework in July 2026 touched multiple kings, so any full card table we could reconstruct today would be stale or wrong. When the wiki catches up or the developers publish a deck list, this guide expands with it, dated and sourced.
How he plays, in one paragraph
Treat him as a combo king. The documented effects (stuns on first hits, damage that scales from orb timing) all reward planning the order of a battle rather than stacking raw stats, which makes him a poor first king and a fascinating fourth or fifth. If you are still learning the gameplay loop, the community recommendation is the King of Nothing first and this one later.
FAQ
When was the King of Time added?
October 8, 2025, in the update numbered Patch #15. The official announcement describes him as the ninth king, completing the roster.
Is King of Time good?
The community treats him as a strong but demanding pick: his effects reward timing and sequencing over raw numbers. There is no official tier ranking; our tier list tracks community consensus per patch.
What is his unlock condition?
Unlike the launch kings, whose tasks the community wiki has recorded, his unlock task is not clearly documented anywhere we trust. He is unlocked through the normal task system: complete the task on his card, win the run.
